The image depicts a narrow, stone-paved alleyway ascending an incline in the city of Safed, Israel. The scene is devoid of human presence. On the left, a substantial wall constructed of irregular, light-brown and tan stone blocks runs vertically from the foreground into the midground. Mounted on this wall are two black, wrought-iron style lanterns: one higher up on the left, and a second, smaller one positioned further into the alley. A cream-colored rectangular utility box is affixed to the upper portion of the wall, and a recessed utility box or mailbox, painted light blue, is visible lower on the wall in the foreground. The ground surface is composed of uneven, light-colored stone pavers in the foreground, transitioning into a series of irregular stone steps that ascend into the background. The paving exhibits dirt, moss, and some cracking. A small, crumpled silver object, possibly litter, is present on the ground in the lower right foreground. On the right side of the alley, a brown metal gate, approximately waist-height, stands ajar, angled slightly towards the viewer. The upper section of this gate features a prominent Star of David design crafted from blue and clear glass or plastic panels. Beyond the gate, a stone building facade is visible.
