MomentThis image captures a wide view of Niagara Falls from a low vantage point on the water, likely from a tour boat, within the City of Niagara Falls, United States of America. The scene is characterized by massive volumes of water cascading into a turbulent basin, generating a pervasive, thick cloud of mist that dominates the central mid-ground and obscures the upper sections of the falls. To the far left, a significant portion of a wide, curved waterfall (Horseshoe Falls) is visible, with white water plunging downwards. To the right, a straighter, narrower section of falls (American Falls) is also discernible, partially shrouded by the intense mist. The water at the base of both falls is highly agitated and frothy. Above the mist, sections of a partly cloudy sky are visible. Patches of clear blue sky are interspersed with large, billowy white and gray cumulus clouds. The foreground and lower mid-ground consist of dark, choppy, greenish-blue water, indicating strong currents and turbulence. Numerous birds, primarily seagulls, populate the scene. They are densely concentrated in the central mist and are seen flying, soaring, and hovering above the turbulent water. Some birds are closer to the water's surface, while others are higher in the mist. Faint, dark rocky formations or cliff bases are intermittently visible through the mist, particularly on the left and central-right, near the waterline. No people or parts of the vessel from which the photograph was taken are visible within the frame.
