Stake attention in this memory
The image is a black and white photograph of four men sitting on a bench in a room at the National Museum of Tanzania. They are all dressed in shirts and pants, and their clothes are slightly wrinkled. Their faces are partially obscured by the shadows but they all have short hair. The men appear to be part of a delegation from the TANU Committee. The caption below the photograph states that they travelled from Mwanza to Dar es Salaam to request permission from the governor to open a Tanganyika African National Union (TANU) branch in Mwanza. From right to left, the men are Simon Ngusa, August Madada, Wilson Bauma, and J.K. Nyerere. The caption also states that Nyerere was not a part of the group. The image appears to be taken sometime in the 1960s. The coordinates provided, -6.814, 39.294, place the photograph in the National Museum of Tanzania, in Dar es Salaam.
