A Chukar partridge (Alectoris chukar) is depicted in close-up, in profile, facing right, contained within a dark, possibly rusted, metal wire cage in the city of Kandahar, Afghanistan
A Chukar partridge (Alectoris chukar) is depicted in close-up, in profile, facing right, contained within a dark, possibly rusted, metal wire cage in the city of Kandahar, Afghanistan. The bird exhibits reddish-brown upper plumage, a greyish breast, and prominent black and white stripes on its flanks. A distinct black band extends from its forehead through its eye and down its neck, outlining a white throat patch. It possesses a bright red orbital ring, a red beak, and partially visible red legs. The background, out of focus, reveals additional wire bird cages of various sizes and colors, including a small white cage with blue accents, a red cage, and a green feeder component, consistent with a bird market or pet shop environment. The distant ground appears to be a light-colored paved or tiled surface. No human subjects are present in the frame.
