This image shows the Large Theater (Teatro Grande) in the archaeological site of Pompeii, Italy. The perspective is from the upper tiers of the semi-circular stone seating area (cavea), looking down towards the orchestra and stage. The cavea is constructed from grey, rough-hewn stone steps, with the innermost curved seating rows appearing lighter, possibly white or newly restored. In the central orchestra area, four individuals are standing together in a group, facing each other in conversation.
