The monument consists of a silver sphere with the red Cyrillic letters "CCCP" (USSR) on it. Above the sphere are four metal rods with stylized star shapes at the top. The sphere rests on a blue and red pedestal. On either side of the sphere are signs with text in Russian. The sign on the left states that the Vostok spacecraft, a manned version, landed in this area on March 25, 1961.
