In Ejule, Nigeria, a large black plastic basin, approximately 60-70 cm in diameter, is filled to capacity with numerous live Giant African Land Snails (Achatina fulica). The snails exhibit light-brown bodies and distinctively patterned, spiraled shells, predominantly dark brown with lighter streaks. They are actively mobile, crawling over one another within the basin, and several snails are observed extending their bodies over the basin's rim, attempting to move outwards. The basin rests directly on a reddish-brown earthen or dusty surface. In the upper right background, a second, dark-colored basin containing water and additional snails is partially visible. A portion of a grey textile bag is present in the lower left foreground. No human subjects are visible in the scene.
