The scene depicts an animal pen in Agingi Zion, Nigeria. A group of domestic animals, primarily goats and sheep, are gathered around an unpainted wooden feeding trough that extends horizontally across the central-right portion of the frame. The subjects include approximately five white, shaggy-coated sheep-like animals, three reddish-brown goats, and two black goats. One black goat visible in the upper right has a yellow ear tag on its left ear. Most animals have their heads lowered into the trough, actively feeding.
