The marker is a stone monument with a large inscription in Dutch, commemorating the site of the old Dutch church. The inscription reads: "On this site stood from 1640 to 1725 the old Dutch church of the Kruiskerk and from 1725 to 1808 the new Holland church. The Holland and the churches of the Dutch East Indies churches on this site found their last resting place. Jan Pieterszoon Coen Governor General of the Dutch East Indies in 1634".
