The scene depicts a segment of a shallow, dark, artificial water channel, likely located within the Hell Grotto (Am Phu Cave) at the Marble Mountains (Ngũ Hành Sơn) in Đà Nẵng, Vietnam. The murky water contains debris including leaves, small pieces of paper, and plastic. Emerging vertically from the water are at least four distinct sculptures of human-like arms and hands, rendered in a light pinkish-grey tone, with their bases dark and textured, resembling weathered stone or organic matter. These hands are positioned with fingers extended upwards, suggesting a reaching or grasping posture. Interspersed within the water are several dark, rounded, mound-like structures, partially submerged. One elongated, dark-scaled fish or eel is visible swimming leftward near the channel's left bank. The left bank of the channel is bordered by a moss-covered, greenish-grey concrete or natural rock formation, behind which rises a larger rock wall. This wall features a painted surface depicting reddish-brown, stylized tree branches and roots against a lighter, variegated background. Lush, large-leafed green plants, possibly a species of aroid, are extensively growing over this rock face and a gnarled, dark, root-like sculpture. On a higher ledge of this bank, a collection of crumpled paper items and other small debris is visible. The right bank consists of a lighter grey, textured concrete or stone barrier.
