VersaillesFrance

This image captures a vertical segment of the Chapel of the Palace of Versailles in Versailles, France. The facade is constructed from light-colored, likely limestone, featuring Baroque architectural ornamentation. A prominent, tall, arched window with a gilded frame and dark, reflective glass panes dominates the center. Its upper section contains a circular gilded motif with radiating spokes. Below this window, a small stone balcony with a golden balustrade extends. Above the window, a grey stone gargoyle projects from the wall, beneath which a relief carving depicts two winged putti holding an unidentified object. Ornate Corinthian capitals top engaged columns flanking the main window. Decorative friezes, cornices, and moldings with floral and scrollwork designs are integrated into the stone. Higher in the frame, a smaller arched window with a golden frame and dark panes is visible above a gilded balustrade. At the bottom of the image, a black metal fence with pointed finials partially obstructs a smaller, arched window, also with a gilded frame and dark glass. A dark gray rectangular structure is visible behind the fence to the right. No individuals are depicted.
