The image shows a sign in front of the Stone Stele of Ten-thousand Buddha Tower located at the coordinates 39.928° N, 116.379° E in the city of Beijing, China. The sign is a maroon color and is written in both Chinese and English. The text on the sign reads, “Stone Stele of Ten-thousand Buddha Tower. Ten-thousand Buddha Tower, which no longer exists, had been built on the order of Qing Emperor (Wanli 11-1193) to celebrate the 80th birthday of his mother, (Wanli 1-1593) to commemorate the Completion of Ten-thousand Buddha Temple. The Stele of Ten-thousand Buddha Tower erected in 1770, bears the inscription of a Poem to Commemorate the Completion of Ten-thousand Buddha Tower in Han, Manchurian, Mongolian, and Tibetan script, each in one side. Originally standing in front of the tower; it was moved to this location in 1987.”
