A multi-story concrete and light-colored concrete block building, extensively damaged, stands in Homs, Syria. The structure exhibits severe, widespread damage consistent with bombardment and sustained conflict. Multiple floors have large, irregular openings where windows, walls, and sections of the facade are absent, exposing the interiors. The building's upper sections show significant structural compromise, with fractured concrete slabs, exposed rebar, and numerous small, circular perforations on walls and undersides of balconies, indicative of bullet or shrapnel impacts. Balconies are partially or completely destroyed. The ground floor features several large, open portals leading into darkened, empty spaces. On the far left, a dark-colored motorcycle is parked within one of these ground-level openings. Overhead, damaged electrical or communication wires hang loosely. Debris, consisting of concrete rubble and dust, covers the unpaved ground directly in front of the structure. A small, white paper with text is attached to a concrete support column on the ground floor. Green foliage is visible in the upper left foreground and through a distant opening at the rear of the ground floor. The sky is clear above the building.
