The photo depicts Julius Nyerere, the first president of Tanzania, receiving a spear, shield and flywhisk from members of the Nyamwezi ethnic group in Tabora, Tanzania. The photo was taken in 1979. The inscription beneath the photo states that the gifts were given to Nyerere in honor of the Kagera war victory against Idi Amin of Uganda. The museum is located in the Kivukoni area of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
