General TodorovBulgaria

The scene is located in General Todorov, Bulgaria. Two adult Red-Eared Slider turtles (Trachemys scripta elegans) are situated on a light brown, gravelly dirt bank at the edge of a calm freshwater body. The turtle on the left faces generally forward and slightly right, while the turtle on the right faces generally forward and slightly left. Both turtles have their heads extended from their shells, displaying characteristic red patches behind their eyes and yellow striped markings on their heads, necks, and forelegs. Their carapaces are a mottled light gray and dark gray, appearing weathered or covered in mineral deposits/algae. The dirt bank is composed of compacted soil mixed with small pebbles and stones. A distinct shadow, likely cast by an overhead object or the photographer, spans the lower right portion of the bank. The adjacent water body shows minor ripples on its surface, reflecting green foliage from an unseen bank or trees overhead. The water near the edge appears relatively shallow and somewhat turbid, with faint outlines of submerged objects or sediment visible. The overall environment is outdoors, under clear daytime conditions with ample natural light. No people or other animals are visible.
