The image depicts a close-up, upward-angled view of a medium-sized dog's head in Dupnitsa, Bulgaria. The dog, a tan and dark-muzzled type, faces directly towards the camera. Its brown eyes show reflections of an overhead light source, with the left eye being more distinctly illuminated than the right, which is partially obscured by shadow. A prominent, wet, black nose with visible nostrils and numerous long, black whiskers extends towards the viewer. The dog's fur transitions from a lighter tan/brown on the upper head and visible body portion to a darker, grayish-brown on the muzzle area. Strong overhead sunlight casts a distinct shadow across the right side of the dog's face and an indistinct shadow on the light grey, textured ground surface. A partial view of a human foot or shoe is visible in the lower right corner of the frame. The scene occurs outdoors.
