Stake attention in this memory
The image shows a white marble tombstone with a raised cross at the top. The inscription on the tombstone reads: "TO THE MEMORY OF TRUMPETER J. LONGMAN NO. 4 COMPANY R. C. A. WHO ACCIDENTALLY FELL INTO THE SEA AT THIS SPOT ON THE 4TH DECEMBER 1903 AGE 17 YEARS." The tombstone is set against a wall constructed of rough stone and concrete, with black square tiles embedded in the concrete. The wall is topped with large, irregularly shaped rocks. The sky above is blue with scattered white clouds. Below the main tombstone, there is a smaller metal plaque with an inscription. The plaque is difficult to read clearly in the image, but some of the text appears to be "THIS STONE WAS REPOSITIONED ON 15TH DECEMBER 1989. ORIGINALLY IT STOOD HALFWAY BTY." This tombstone is located at the "Lower Galleries" in Gibraltar, commemorating a young trumpeter who died tragically at the age of 17.
