This image displays the stone sculpture "Prometheus" by Jan Rypák, located in Palackého sady (Palacký Park) in Písek, Czechia. The sculpture depicts a life-sized male figure, carved from light grey stone, seated on a roughly sculpted rock formation serving as its base. The figure has long, wavy hair, and its left leg is bent with the foot resting on the higher part of the base, while the right leg is extended forward with the foot on a lower section. Both hands are clasped together at the chest. The head is tilted slightly upward and to the right. The sculpture shows signs of weathering, including minor surface erosion and dark discoloration in recessed areas. It is positioned outdoors amidst dense green foliage and tree trunks, with one prominent tree trunk immediately to the right of the figure. In the background, to the right, a building with a light-colored, curved roof, consistent with the Písek Observatory, is partially visible. The ground immediately surrounding the base appears to be natural earth or sparse grass.
