Numerous gulls (Larus species) are visible throughout the upper and middle portions of the frame. Over twenty individual gulls are in various stages of flight; several are concentrated in the mid-air above the water, while others are flying lower, closer to the water's surface, both in front of and behind the breakwater structure. No human presence or artificial structures beyond the breakwater are discernible. The overall lighting is dim and diffuse due to the heavy cloud cover.
