This image displays a natural stream flowing through a densely vegetated valley in Ariyalai, Sri Lanka. The stream occupies the central and left portions of the frame, moving from the background toward the foreground. Its bed is composed of numerous visible rocks and boulders, with clear water exhibiting ripples and localized turbulence. Both banks are heavily covered with lush green foliage; the left bank features dense, tall trees and undergrowth extending up a hillside, while the right bank, closer to the foreground, shows a more managed appearance. Along the immediate right bank, a retaining structure of rocks enclosed by wire mesh (gabion baskets) is visible. Two unworked wooden logs lie horizontally across the top of this gabion structure. Further back on the right bank, several small plants are visible, some contained within black pots. A prominent cylindrical bollard, painted white on its upper half and black on its lower half, stands in the lower right foreground, partially obscuring the gabion wall. The sky, partly cloudy, is visible at the top of the image. No individuals are present.
