Stake attention in this memory
This is a low-angle, upward shot of a section of the medieval fortress walls and towers of the Castillet in Perpignan, France, under a bright, hazy sun. The sun is high in the sky, to the upper right of the frame, causing lens flare and washing out the upper portion of the image. The dominant color is the warm red of the brickwork, contrasted with the lighter stone accents around the windows and along the battlements. The fortress features numerous arched crenellations along the top of its walls, which are a characteristic feature of its architecture. Several windows are visible, most of them small and covered with heavy, dark metal grates. Some of these windows have a diamond shape in their stonework. One of the towers has a curved corner. On the top of one of the visible towers, a few people can be seen walking along a walkway behind a metal railing. The sky is a pale, hazy blue. A small, greenish light or reflection is visible on the brickwork in the lower left quadrant of the image. The overall impression is of an ancient, imposing structure bathed in strong sunlight.
