BangkokThailand

An indoor scene is depicted within a minimalist gallery at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA Bangkok), Thailand. A large-scale art installation, "Memory of the City" by Pinaree Sanpitak, occupies the center foreground and midground. It features a dark, cylindrical core from which numerous slender, arcing rods, some dark and some light-colored, extend upwards and outwards, each terminating in a small, dish-shaped or cup-like element. From the base of the installation, multiple long, flat strips, resembling black-and-white film stock printed with photographic frames, radiate across the light grey concrete floor, some coiling or forming loops. Numerous small, dark, fragmented pieces of material are scattered on the floor, especially around the base and along the strips. A young female individual, with long dark hair, wearing a white sleeveless top, dark shorts, and athletic shoes, stands in profile to the right of the artwork, looking upwards towards its upper sections. A small, dark electronic device rests on the floor behind her. The gallery features plain, light-colored walls and a grid-patterned ceiling with multiple recessed spotlights providing even illumination.
