The image displays the exterior of the Şerif Halil Paşa Camii, also known as the Tombul Mosque, situated in Shumen, Bulgaria. The structure is constructed from light-colored, weathered stone, exhibiting Ottoman architectural elements. A tall, slender minaret dominates the upper central portion, featuring a pointed conical spire adorned with a crescent and star finial. Below the spire, a single balcony (şerefe) with intricate carved stone detailing encircles the minaret shaft. The foreground presents the mosque's entrance facade, characterized by thick stone walls and a prominent arched entryway on the left. A large, dark brown wooden double door is partially ajar within this archway, revealing a dark red wooden bench inside. To the left of the main entrance, a gold-colored rectangular plaque is mounted on the stone, inscribed with black text identifying the building as "ŞERİF HALİL PAŞA CAMİİ (TOMBUL CAMİ) 1744" in both Latin and Ottoman Turkish scripts. Further right along the facade, two rectangular windows with decorative black iron grilles are set within shallow arched recesses. A smaller, dark informational sign is visible to the right of these windows. The building's upper sections feature several circular and hexagonal windows with honeycomb-patterned grilles. Domed roofs, appearing dark or lead-covered, are partially visible in the background and on the right side of the structure, each topped with a small crescent finial. A stone chimney with a brick top section is visible on the far right building. The sky is uniformly light grey and overcast, indicating a cloudy day with diffused, even lighting. No individuals are present in the scene.
