San Bernardino TlaxcalancingoMexico

The image displays a snow-covered stratovolcano, identified as Popocatépetl, as observed from the vicinity of San Bernardino Tlaxcalancingo, Mexico. The peak and upper slopes are predominantly covered in white snow, with dark rock formations visible near the summit crater. A vertical plume of light gray smoke or steam is actively rising from the central crater, ascending into a clear, light blue sky. A distinct, wispy cloud segment is also visible higher in the atmosphere, above the main plume. The lower flanks of the mountain transition from the snowline to dark, rugged terrain, indicative of forestation or exposed rock. Two small, isolated dark gray clouds are situated on the mid-slope of the volcano's left side. No human figures or artificial structures are present within the frame.
