An exterior, eye-level, full-frontal photographic depiction of the Church of the Nativity of St
An exterior, eye-level, full-frontal photographic depiction of the Church of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, located in Shumen, Bulgaria, under an overcast sky. The single-story church features white-painted walls with red trim and a brown tiled roof. A central bell tower rises above the main structure, topped with a golden-colored dome, a finial, and a cross. A bell is visible through an arched opening in the tower. Below the dome, on the tower's facade, is a golden-colored cross and a large mosaic depicting a standing male saint holding a staff with a cross, set against a gold background. Below this mosaic, directly above the main entrance, is an inscription in Cyrillic. The main entrance consists of double brown wooden doors, accessed via two steps. Two arched windows with brown frames are situated on the lower facade, one on each side of the entrance area. The foreground consists of a paved pathway made of square concrete tiles, leading towards the church steps. This path is bordered by a series of approximately knee-high, rectangular concrete bollard-like structures, some exhibiting signs of damage or decay. Dark green bushes flank the pathway on both sides. In the background, partially obscured by bare trees, are residential buildings with tiled roofs and a taller, lighter-colored multi-story building. No individuals are visible in the scene.
