The scene is an urban winter landscape near Mosfilmovskaya Street, Moscow, Russia. A large, bare deciduous tree, its trunk and branches partially coated with snow, dominates the foreground. Approximately fifty to sixty rock doves (pigeons) are perched throughout its leafless branches; most are dark grey, with several lighter or white individuals observed. In the mid-ground, a tall, multi-story white residential building with a distinctive curved, multi-paneled glass top, identified as the 'House on Mosfilmovskaya', is visible on the right. A lower-rise building with a light facade and sloped roof is partially visible in the left background. The sky is uniformly overcast and grey.
