The figure, dressed in flowing robes, holds a staff or spear vertically in his raised right hand and an indeterminate object, possibly a book, against his chest with his left hand. He has long hair and looks upwards and slightly to his left. The niche is framed by slender columns with decorative capitals and rests on an intricately carved pedestal. Above and surrounding the niche, the facade features elaborate moldings, floral and foliate carvings, and small sculpted cherubic faces. To the left and right of the niche are arched windows with complex Gothic-style stone tracery. The entire structure exhibits characteristics of European ecclesiastical architecture and is located on the exterior of Notre Dame Cathedral Basilica of Saigon in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
