A vertical oil painting, titled "Fishermen on the Sava" (Рибари на Сави) by Sava Šumanović, dated 1928, is centrally displayed within a light wooden frame on a plain olive-green wall. The painting is located in the National Museum of Serbia in Belgrade, Serbia, as indicated by a white informational label affixed to the wall to the right of the artwork. The painting depicts a dynamic river scene with five male figures and two boats. In the immediate right foreground, a muscular man with dark hair and a beard, wearing a light blue shirt and dark shorts, stands upright, holding a coil of rope or fishing line. To the left, a large wooden boat with a partially lowered or furled light-colored sail is situated on the shore. A second man, dressed in a yellow-green shirt and reddish-brown trousers, stands on the bow of this boat, extending his left arm to grasp a rope. A third man, wearing a blue shirt and dark shorts, is positioned kneeling or crouching on the shore in front of the large boat, actively pulling on a rope connected to a small dark object. In the mid-ground, a smaller wooden rowboat containing three additional figures navigates a body of water, depicted with light blue and white hues suggesting reflections or currents. Two of these figures are actively engaged in rowing. An arched, reddish-brown bridge spans across the upper portion of the river in the background, connecting two landmasses rendered in dark green and brown tones under a light blue and white sky. The artist's signature and date ("S. Šumanović 1928") are visible in the bottom left corner of the painting. The painting is illuminated by overhead gallery lighting.
