The image depicts the elaborate Baroque interior of the Chiesa del Gesù (Church of Jesus) in Foligno, Italy, viewed from below, looking upwards towards the ceiling and dome. The central feature is a large, circular dome fresco portraying a celestial scene. A radiant light source emanates from the apex, surrounding a central divine figure, who is encircled by numerous ascending figures, including winged putti, angels, and saints on clouds, rendered in a vibrant palette of blues, reds, greens, and browns. This fresco is framed by an ornate gilded border. Flanking the dome, the vaulted ceiling panels are also frescoed with various religious figures and scenes, set within intricate gilded stucco frames.
