The letter itself is an oath of loyalty and steadfastness. The wooden stick, possibly a walking stick, is also framed, but the inscription is not visible. The artifacts are illuminated by a light source from above. The case is situated on a white wooden surface with a pale gray wall in the background. The entire scene appears to be in an interior space, possibly a museum gallery or a room dedicated to the Battle of Surabaya.
