high-angle, slightly rotated view of the well-preserved ruins of the ancient Roman theater in Hierapolis, now Pamukkale, Turkey
Momenthigh-angle, slightly rotated view of the well-preserved ruins of the ancient Roman theater in Hierapolis, now Pamukkale, Turkey. The theater is composed of concentric tiers of stone seating arranged in a semi-circular fashion around the orchestra pit. A wooden fence runs along a portion of the upper seating area, with several people standing or sitting behind it. The stage area has elaborate, multi-tiered architectural facades with columns. Beyond the theater, there is an expansive landscape of ruins, grassy areas, and distant trees under an overcast sky.
