In the foreground, two dark wooden lock gates are open towards the viewer. The inner surface of the left gate displays the text "MILLMEAD", while the right gate shows "2014". Both gates exhibit moss and plant growth. The lock chamber, lined with brick walls, extends into the midground. Water actively gushes and flows from partially open upstream lock gates, creating turbulent ripples and foam in the dark water. A metal ladder is affixed to the left brick wall of the lock chamber.
