The scene depicts a vegetated hillside embankment stabilized by a tiered gabion retaining wall in Uato Carabar, Timor-Leste. The retaining wall, constructed from large, irregular stones contained within hexagonal wire mesh baskets, rises in at least three visible tiers. Moss and small green plants are growing on and within the wire mesh and between the stones. Above the wall, the slope is densely covered with various types of green vegetation, including numerous small-leafed plants, broader-leafed ferns with prominent fronds, and a thick tangle of dried, reddish-brown branches and woody debris.
