A wide shot captures a rural landscape dominated by a large, dark brown slag heap or overburden pile on a distant hill under an overcast sky. The slag heap is partially covered with sparse green vegetation, particularly on the lower slopes. Several structures are visible on the crest of the slag heap, including what appear to be radio towers or transmission masts, as well as a small, box-like building. In the foreground, a dense field of tall, vibrant green grass and various other plants stretches across the entire width of the frame. Scattered within this lush vegetation are a few scattered yellow wildflowers. Behind the foreground grass, a line of trees forms a middle ground, with some of the trees appearing denser and darker green than others. To the left of the middle ground, amidst the trees, are several small, light-colored structures with dark roofs, suggesting a small cluster of houses or buildings. One structure has a lighter roof and walls. Further to the right, a dark-colored structure with a light roof is partially visible amongst the trees. The overall impression is one of a remote, somewhat industrial area bordering a natural, overgrown landscape, possibly on the outskirts of Uglegorsk, Russia. The environment is clearly a natural setting with signs of human activity in the form of the slag heap and associated structures.
