A rectangular commemorative plaque, constructed from dark grey marble with prominent white veining, is mounted centrally on a light-colored, textured wall
A rectangular commemorative plaque, constructed from dark grey marble with prominent white veining, is mounted centrally on a light-colored, textured wall. The plaque is bordered by a thin gold-colored frame and secured by four small square gold-colored fasteners at each corner. Gold-colored capital letters are engraved into the marble, detailing historical information related to the Cachat Spring in Évian-les-Bains, France. The text identifies Count Jean Charles de Laizer (1734-1800) as the initial popularizer of the spring's waters between June 12, 1790, and September 23, 1792, during his stay in Évian. It notes his experience as the first spa guest and promoter of Évian natural mineral water due to his affliction with "gravel." The plaque also lists official recognitions and authorizations for the source: by the King of Sardinia on July 11, 1826; approval by the Academy of Medicine on September 3, 1878; state authorization on September 19, 1878; and recognition of public interest on June 25, 1926. No individuals, actions, or additional objects are present in the image.
