This image presents an upward, forensic view of the Filarete Tower, a prominent structure within the Sforza Castle (Castello Sforzesco) in Milan, Italy. The tower, constructed primarily of reddish-brown brickwork, ascends against a clear, vibrant blue sky. The lower visible section of the tower features crenellated battlements. Below these, a decorative frieze with a red and white zigzag pattern is visible. Centrally located on the tower's facade is a large rectangular panel displaying a heraldic crest: a blue crowned serpent (Biscione) depicted devouring a red human figure, all set against a white background with a light blue border. Below the crest, two small, arched windows are visible. Above the battlements, a band contains a Latin inscription, partially legible as "ACUIUS VIRTUS IUNGES", flanked by cross-shaped apertures. Further up, an open, large arched window is present. The tower then transitions to an octagonal section with multiple arched openings, framed by a small balcony adorned with decorative, dark, possibly metallic finials or sculptures. The uppermost part of the tower is crowned with a dark, rounded dome and a pointed finial. The entire tower is illuminated by direct sunlight, casting clear shadows that highlight its architectural details. In the upper left quadrant of the blue sky, a distinct white crescent moon is visible. No people, animals, or ongoing actions or interactions are depicted in the scene.
