This is a photograph of the Alanya Shipyard (Tersane) and the Red Tower (Kızıl Kule) area in Alanya, Turkey. The image captures a section of the historic defensive walls that run along the coastline and up the hillside. The walls are constructed of rough-hewn stone blocks and feature crenellations along the top. In the foreground, the clear, turquoise water of the Mediterranean Sea laps gently against a small, sandy beach. Several people are visible in the water, swimming and enjoying the sea. Some are closer to the shore, while others are further out. A few individuals are also present on the beach, sunbathing or relaxing. Behind the defensive wall, the steep hillside is covered in lush green trees and vegetation. Dotted amongst the trees are numerous traditional Ottoman-style houses, characterized by their red-tiled roofs, white walls, and wooden balconies. Some of these houses are built directly into the hillside, creating a picturesque, terraced effect. In the upper part of the image, remnants of further ancient fortifications or structures can be seen built into the rocky slope. The sky above is a clear, bright blue.
