This image depicts a heavily damaged urban residential area in Khan Yunis, Palestinian Territory, under an overcast sky
This image depicts a heavily damaged urban residential area in Khan Yunis, Palestinian Territory, under an overcast sky. Two multi-story residential buildings, primarily tan with reddish-brown vertical accents and decorative white arched window frames, flank a debris-strewn ground area. The building on the left exhibits surface damage, including marks on its facade, and some objects hanging from balconies. The building on the right is severely damaged, with large sections of its exterior facade missing, exposing internal structures and shattered windows. Both buildings feature ground floors with open, arched arcades. The ground between these buildings is a mix of paved sections, sand, and extensive rubble consisting of concrete chunks, rebar, and general debris. A grey tarp-covered structure, resembling a makeshift shelter, is located amidst the debris in the midground. In the background, multiple other multi-story residential buildings, also appearing damaged or under various states of disrepair, extend into the distance. Three individuals are visible in the foreground and midground. One person, wearing a red shirt and dark pants, stands in the debris field. Two other individuals, dressed in dark clothing, are walking under the arches of the ground floor of the left building. Additional, less distinct figures are faintly discernible further in the background amidst the distant structures.
