The scene depicts four peacocks perched on a wooden railing of an elevated outdoor structure, located on the outskirts of Sofia, Bulgaria. The structure features a substantial wooden pergola roof with exposed timber beams and support posts. The concrete or stone floor of the platform is extensively soiled with accumulated bird droppings. A large white peacock, displaying long white tail feathers, is positioned on the left side of the railing, oriented away from the camera. To its right, three dark-feathered peacocks, consistent with peahens or immature males, are also perched sequentially on the railing, generally facing towards the right side of the frame. The background reveals a natural landscape composed of forested hills, including both bare deciduous trees and dense coniferous sections. Distant mountain peaks exhibit visible snow patches under an overcast sky with intermittent blue.
