An empty, ancient, rectangular burial niche is depicted within the Phoenician Necropolis in Cádiz, Spain. The niche, roughly carved into rock or earth, presents a flat base, vertical side walls, and a flat ceiling. All interior surfaces are coated in a light-toned, eroded plaster or stucco, exhibiting extensive calcification, textural variations, and multiple irregular brown and reddish-brown discolorations consistent with mineral staining and age. The adjacent wall to the right shows a rougher, unrefined excavation surface. A small, dark red, rectangular object, possibly modern interpretive signage, is partially visible in the lower left foreground. Artificial illumination highlights the textures and depth of the recession. No human figures or specific artifacts are present within the niche.
