An image displays the northeastern facade and clock tower of the Gare de Metz-Ville, Metz, France, under an overcast sky
An image displays the northeastern facade and clock tower of the Gare de Metz-Ville, Metz, France, under an overcast sky. The central feature is the station's prominent clock tower, constructed of light-colored, rough-hewn stone. The tower tapers upwards to a pointed spire capped with patinated green copper. A white circular clock face with black markings and hands is visible on the tower, indicating approximately 10:20. Below the clock, three arched openings are present, followed by a section with recessed, vertical windows. To the right of the tower, an adjacent section of the station building features a steeply pitched, dark-tiled roof with multiple dormer windows. The building's stone facade incorporates a series of arched windows with decorative Romanesque Revival stonework. A statue is carved into a niche on the lower visible section of the clock tower. On the left side of the frame, a partial view of a tall, slender, light-colored vertical structure, possibly a flagpole or monument, is visible, with a small French flag (blue, white, red) located at its base. The sky above is uniformly grey and cloudy. No individuals or vehicles are visible in the frame.
