The canal occupies the lower two-thirds of the frame, with murky, rippling water. Its banks are vertical, weathered concrete walls. The left wall exhibits dark graffiti near the foreground. The right wall is covered extensively with layered graffiti. In the midground, the canal passes under a series of elevated roadways supported by concrete structures.
