Ramat Negev Regional CouncilIsrael

The image depicts a natural desert oasis, identified as Ein Avdat National Park within the Ramat Negev Regional Council, Israel. A narrow waterfall cascades from the upper-center of the frame, descending along a vertical rock face into a tranquil, dark pool of water that occupies the lower third of the scene. The surrounding geological features consist of light brown, layered, and eroded sandstone cliffs, exhibiting vertical striations and horizontal bedding planes. Green and yellowish vegetation, including grasses, shrubs, and moss, clings to the damp rock surfaces, particularly around the waterfall and at the waterline. On the right side of the frame, a distinct dark, moss-covered, column-like rock formation rises vertically from the water, adjacent to a shadowed recess or small cave entrance in the cliff face. Gentle ripples are visible across the surface of the dark water, reflecting the surrounding rock. No individuals, animals, or artificial structures are present.
