A Barbary macaque (Macaca sylvanus) is seated atop a large, light-grey limestone rock, facing left, on the Upper Rock Nature Reserve in the city of Gibraltar, Gibraltar. The macaque's back and right flank are visible, displaying brown-grey fur and a short tail. The rock it occupies is irregular in shape, casting shadows consistent with direct sunlight. Below and to the left, additional grey rock formations are visible.
