A brindled dog with white markings on its chest, belly, and paws is observed lying on its left side on a dirt ground in Akwanga, Nigeria. The dog, which appears to be female with visible nipples, is actively scratching its right ear with its raised right hind leg. Its head is lowered towards its chest, and its front left paw is bent near its snout. The immediate environment consists of dry, light brown/greyish soil. In the background, several large, irregularly shaped rocks and smaller fragments are present, interspersed with scattered ash and charcoal remnants, suggesting a former fire area. Minimal sparse green vegetation is visible near the rocks, along with a small, round, light brown object on the ground behind the dog. No human subjects are present.
