This image presents an elevated, oblique view of a coastal scene in Pointe-Noire, Republic of the Congo, under an overcast sky. The upper two-thirds of the frame are dominated by the grey-toned Atlantic Ocean, characterized by multiple parallel lines of white breaking waves receding towards the upper left. The water closest to the shore appears dark and somewhat turbulent, possibly indicating submerged rocks or a reef. A sandy beach, light beige in color, forms the transition between the ocean and the landmass in the lower portion of the image. On the left side of the beach, a man-made breakwater composed of numerous dark, irregular rocks extends diagonally into the water from the sand. Footprints are faintly visible on the undisturbed sandy sections. Numerous palm trees with dark green fronds are densely scattered along the beach and immediately inland. The overall environment suggests a tropical coastline on a heavily clouded day.
