The scene depicts a forest path in Trudovaya, Russia, during what appears to be late winter or early spring. A tan and white American Staffordshire Terrier-type dog, wearing a pink and black collar and attached to a black leash, stands in the lower-left foreground, facing left. Its right ear is partially erect, and its left ear is folded. The ground around the dog is covered in an irregular layer of melting snow with exposed twigs and debris. A narrow path, partially cleared of snow and appearing somewhat icy in sections, extends from the midground towards the background, flanked by snow-covered forest floor. Two grey pigeons are positioned on this path in the midground, approximately equidistant from each other. The forest is dense, dominated by numerous tall coniferous trees with green foliage, primarily spruce or fir, forming a solid green wall in the background and along the path.
