The image portrays a coastal scene featuring a row of traditional boathouses, known as 'syrmata', situated at the base of a dry, rocky hillside under a clear blue sky. The location is specified as Plaka, Greece. The structures are predominantly whitewashed with brightly painted lower doors, window frames, and balconies in various colors including red, blue, green, yellow, and purple. The hillside to the right rises steeply, exhibiting arid, brownish-orange terrain with sparse vegetation. The foreground is composed of clear, shallow water, revealing rocks and the seabed beneath its rippled surface. One small, white boat with a red stripe is anchored in the mid-left area of the water. At least two other smaller, white boats are moored further back near the houses. A narrow concrete path runs along the shoreline in front of the structures. Approximately 5-7 individuals are visible on this path, primarily on the right side of the frame, appearing to walk or stand. Two additional figures are standing on a concrete barrier or small jetty extending into the water on the far left. A sun flare is present in the upper left quadrant of the sky.
