The scene is dominated by strong backlighting from two prominent horizontal rows of large windows across the upper and middle sections of the far wall. These windows, some appearing dirty or partially damaged, illuminate the mostly dark and shadowed interior. Visible structural elements include steel beams and columns supporting the ceiling and window frames. In the immediate foreground, a dark, out-of-focus, broad object extends from the lower left corner towards the center. To the right in the mid-ground, a substantial, dark, stacked mass of indeterminate objects, possibly old machinery or building materials, occupies the space. A slender vertical column or pipe with a small angled cover is situated further left in the mid-ground. On the floor in the background, near the base of the lower windows, two red, cylindrical objects, resembling fire extinguishers, are partially visible.
