The staircase, constructed from dark, weathered stone blocks, features approximately 25 visible steps leading diagonally upwards from the lower-left foreground towards the upper-right background. Green moss is present on many of the step surfaces. A rustic handrail, made from rough-hewn logs and branches, runs along the right side of the staircase. To the left of the stairs, a steep, layered rock face dominates the scene. This rock is reddish-brown with areas of dark staining, numerous horizontal strata, vertical fissures, and patches of green lichen and sparse plant growth. Sunlight illuminates the upper portions of the rock face and the stairs, creating strong shadows in the lower sections and beneath the handrail. The right side of the image and the background are densely forested with a mix of evergreen and deciduous trees, some displaying green foliage while others appear bare. Dappled sunlight filters through the tree canopy, casting patterns on the forest floor and the vegetation. A clear blue sky is visible through the trees in the upper-right quadrant.
